Pliteq receives $3.8-million from FEDEV Ontario and creates 62 jobs in Vaughan

December 17, 2018 – Vaughan, ON FedDev Ontario contributed $3.8 million the expansion project, which allowed Pliteq Inc. to acquire advanced production equipment and adopt new manufacturing activities that boost productivity. Products are now manufactured in-house, instead of being outsourced to other countries. In addition, Pliteq Inc. created 62 skilled jobs.

Today, Francesco Sorbara, Member of Parliament for Vaughan—Woodbridge, visited Pliteq Inc., a manufacturer of acoustic vibration and sound control products made with recycled rubber from used vehicle tires, to see first-hand the new 150,000-square foot facility in Vaughan.

Pliteq Inc. has used 15,000 tons of recycled rubber (approximately three million tires) in this first year of operations, and expects to scale up to 30,000 tons annually by 2021. This translates to approximately six million tires per year that are being diverted from landfills.
