This week, the Government of Canada announced that Canadians will be getting affordable housing help. Canada’s first-ever National Housing Strategy is a 10-year, $40-billion plan that will help reduce homelessness and improve the availability and quality of housing for Canadians in need.
With these investments, our government is re-establishing its leadership role in housing, and taking a human-rights approach. The National Housing Strategy is focused on meeting the needs of Canadians, including seniors; women and children fleeing family violence; Indigenous peoples; persons with disabilities; those dealing with mental health and addiction issues; veterans; and young adults.
The government was elected to bring real change to Canadian workers and families. The National Housing Strategy is delivering that real, tangible change to Canadians across the country.
